Writing The Way

What is the meaning of life? That was all—a simple question; one that tended to close in on one with years. The great revelation had never come. The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one. -Virginia Woolf, “To the Lighthouse”

The Philosophy of Writing The Way

In my eyes, writing is as much a spiritual discipline as it is an art form. Thus, the purpose of my writing is not merely to just create but to better understand myself and the world around me. Since I have begun this journey, both in the external world and my inner world, writing has gone hand in hand with my growth and development as a human being. However, dear reader, I do not see you as a mere receptacle for my thoughts, ideas, and whatever scraps of “wisdom” that I may unknowingly stumble upon from time to time—far from it. Instead, I view the relationship between author and reader as a symbiotic one: a good reader is as much an artist as the writer.

I know this may be a lofty goal, and some of you may think it naive—a charge I take with pride—but it is my wish that through this website, I can inspire you to take this journey with me. However, I am not so naive as to believe you will always agree with me or reach the same “conclusions” that I seemingly reach. That is where you, the reader—the artist—come in.

Happy reading.
